2009 Scholarship Winners Announced!

SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Horace Mann Scholarship, Gerry Gdowski Agency

The NSIAAA Scholarship Winner is Kelvin Arent, Maywood High School. Kelvin is the son of Randy and Janice Arent. Janice is the Athletic Director at Maywood High School. Kelvin has participated in Football, Basketball and Track. During this time he has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is number 1 in his class. Kelvin hopes to attend the University of Nebraska and study Engineering.

NIAAA Scholarship

The NIAAA Scholarship Male Winner is Brett Armstrong, Kearney High School. Brett
is the son of Mark and Lori Armstrong. Mark is the Athletic Director at Kearney High School. Brett has participated in Football, Basketball and Track. During this time he has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is ranked number 1 in is class. Brett plans to attend college in the fall. Brett will represent Nebraska at the Section V meeting and if selected will then compete at the National Level.

The NIAAA Scholarship Female Winner is Kara Hovseth, Gering High School. Kara is the daughter of Daniel and Lori Hovseth. The Athletic Director at Gering is Tom OBoyle. Kara has participated in Cross-Country, Basketball and Track. During this time she has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is ranked number 1 in her class. Kara has been accepted at the US Air Force Academy and the US Military Academy at West Point. Kara will represent Nebraska at the Section V meeting and if selected will then compete at the National Level.
