NSIAAA Retired Athletic/Activities Director Program

The goal of this program is to keep Retired AD’s involved in the NSIAAA and NIAAA and thus allow these organizations to use and recoup their expertise developed over years of performing duties as an athletic administrator.

This program is set up to entice retired AD’s to continue to be part of the NSIAAA/NIAAA in the state of Nebraska.  These men and women have the expertise and skills to help continue to assist these organizations to grow and be a productive part of Nebraska’s education process.

As the Athletic/Activities Directors retire they will be invited to join the NSIAAA/NIAAA as a retired AD.  The requirements will be:

  1. Fill out the NSIAAA form on the NSIAAA website.

  2. Pay the National dues for retired AD’s yearly. (at this time it is $30 and includes $2500 Life policy from NIAAA)

(PLEASE NOTE: NSIAAA / NIAAA Dual Retired Membership WITH additional NSIAAA Term Life is $42.50 per year

ADDS an ADDITIONAL  $5000 Term Life Policy yearly)

3. Come and enjoy the benefits of the NSIAAA/NIAAA

Benefits from joining the NSIAAA/NIAAA will be they can (and hopefully they will):

  1. Attend the fall clinic

  2. Attend the spring banquet

  3. Be eligible to stay on the life insurance policies if they pay the dues amount to the NSIAAA.  Additional coverage available up to $5000 total for a nominal fee. (Currently $42.50 - larger numbers can help keep the cost down)

  4. Continue to give their expertise to our/their organization.

Benefits the NSIAAA will get:

  1. The expertise of the years of experience from retired AD’s and their knowledge base.

  2. Possible teachers for the LTI’s, if they are willing and have the expertise to teach these classes.

  3. Continue to increase the number count for the national membership count of our state membership.

  4. Keeping updated contact information of the AD’s for future reference.

  5. They may be able to serve on committees and groups as the need arises for their knowledge and expertise.

Names and information would be gathered by the district representatives from the schools that they retired from and the new AD’s that are replacing them.  A database will be developed to add to each year from now on as an AD retires.

Jack Tarr, Retired Membership Coordinator, has begun the process of contacting and signing up Retired AD’s.  They will need the help of all district representatives to help gather initial information of names, numbers and email addresses.
